| Q.
What is covered by your warranty?
Answer.
The warranty given as standard ensures the
performance of the light meets the required specification
for the entire 5 year period. Please see Warranty
for details.
Q. How does one know
when an LED product is out of photometric specifications?
Answer.
Our warranty allows for a minimum of 5 years of operation
while ensuring the beacon meets the FAA’s minimum
photometric requirements. LED’s do not “burn
out” similar to incandescent. An LED will have
a slight degradation of light output with use. This
is similar to the degradation of a strobe tube.
Q. How many LED’s can
be burned out before one is out of spec?
Answer.
According to the FAA’s addendum, all LED based
fixtures approved by the FAA are required to meet the
minimum photometric's with up to 25% of the LED’s
not contributing to the photometric's of the fixture.
After 25% the fixture shall cease to operate.
Q. How will the units withstand
a lightning strike?
Answer.
Depends on the intensity level of the strike. Each unit
has a significant level of protection. Please see our
manual for specific information.
Q. What are the true cost
savings if we currently replace our lamps every year;
every two years?
Answer.
This depends on your current material & overhead
costs as well as what you pay per kwh.
Q. What are your products
certified to meet?
Answer.
Our products are certified to meet the FAA and ICAO.
